"Cardinal Family" is the title of this beautiful original acrylic painting. The painting depicts a serene scene of a cardinal family in a beautiful sunset basking in the evening light of the setting sun. The birds were lovingly sculpted and painted to have much detail. The tree has lots of knots in the wood and is painted in complementary shades of browns to show off the texture of the wooden branches. This work of art is created in a new technique developed by artist Nathalie Van. The tree and the birds are sculpted and painted in a 3D detailed method which is super unique and non-repeatable. This is a one of a kind painting. The baby birds remind me a bit of angry birds which is funny 🙂

This painting measures 48" wide and 20" tall and is painted over three stretched 0.5" deep canvases with very thick impasto texture. I developed the medium for the tree trunk texture myself and it’s not something anyone has done as far as I know. I tried to achieve a realistic tree texture in the painting including all the knots and holes in the wood that you would find in nature. You will really want to run your fingers along the branches to feel the amazing detail! The birds are super detailed as well, please see the closeup photos to check it out 🙂 This is one of a kind wall art.
